SPUR Weekly Update!Updated July 09, 2002
Renovations are underway! Check back every Wednesday for an update on the construction along with progress photos! Previous weeks' photos and updates are included as part of the SPUR photo diary. The full diary will be available on CD at the end of the project.
Check out the new historic artifact section in the diary that highlights some of the historic elements uncovered during the construction. Our very own urban archaeology project.
My apologies for not captioning pictures. If you have trouble identifying what the picture shows, the picture file names are fairly descriptive.
What's happened this past weekThe MAAB should have a decision, but they haven't been available to tell us what it was. Meanwhile, with support from our neighbor, Mr. Berliner, Brookline has agreed to grant us a "provisional" building permit until a decision from the MAAB has been rendered which will allow construction to continue.
Work has been able to proceed, however. Lots of plumbing has been done in the kitchen and Women's Head. Also drain lines that were cracked that drain water from the roof have been replaced along with a rotted pipe under the floor of the hall in the Pit. Sprinkler work continues with more lines being installed and new sprinkler heads everywhere. The new wall between Men's Head and Pansy has been started.
What's happening this coming weekMore plumbing and sprinkler work will be done along with framing up Men's Head wall. We should have the ruling from the MAAB.
